Day One of Food Blog!

So, here I am with the first food blog of the day!  Granted, dinner isn't included... yet.

Breakfast:

Leftover 5 oz. steak, baked potato, and small slice of garlic bread from last night.  I ate all the bread, half the steak and half of the potato with 2 TBSP of regular sour cream.  YUMMO!

Afternoon Snack:

Cookies and Cream Shake made from:

  • 1 can of Vanilla Worldwide Protein Shake
  • 2 crushed SF Oreos
  • a splash of SF vanilla syrup
  • 2 ice cups
I'm enjoying this now - REALLY GOOD!

I should go to the support group tonight, but its open forum and I don't like those.  I'd rather drive all the way up there if they have something enjoyable (fitness class, cooking demonstration, etc.)  

Need to go run some errands in a bit.  I want to go to the .99 Store really bad for some reason =P  I always seem to find something interesting there.

Soooo.....

It's been a while since I posted.  I've been stalking all sorts of blogs lately and have come to a decision.  I'm going to blog daily and POST my food photos!  I need to be accountable and get past this plateau I have reached.  I am hovering at an 80lb loss (awesome, I know, but I want to lose MORE).  I'm gonna make this a healthy eating/fitness blog like my faves and show everyone that I can DO THIS with the help of the lap band =]

72!!!!

I am now down 72lbs as of Tuesday's weigh in at Weight Watchers!  WOOHOO!  Six months, one week, and three days since surgery =]  I couldn't be any happier.  My plan is to have lost 100lbs by my birthday (January 25th).  That leaves me with a little less than four months to do it.  I KNOW I can do it!


I've decided to set up little challenges for myself along the way.  A couple of ideas for challenges are: no eating out for seven days, five days a week for a month of yoga, five days a week for a month of stretching exercises, five days a week for one month of walking, increasing my water intake significantly over the course of a week or even a month, consistent WW tracking for one month.  That's all I have at the moment, but I can add.  This week, starting Sunday, I want to increase my water intake for the week.  I have a tracker app for my iPhone for this.  This will make it easier for work!  


Tuesday nights WW topic was about 1 and 2 point snacks.  Lots of great ideas came up, including this new yummy looking popcorn, whose name escapes me (Smart something or other??).  I really like cut up organic apple slices with some peanut butter.  It helps increase my protein content for the day and its super tasty!  Who doesn't love that combo of sweet and tart with smooth and nutty?  I tried these Fiber One bars and like them!  I really love the Oats & Chocolate, but the Mocha flavor is almost as tasty.  Very filling and a great snack for my last break of the day (around 0600).  I'm also crazy about these Yoplait Delight Parfaits!  I've only tried the Raspberry Chocolate, but LOVE it!  Its not even like eating yogurt, but like eating a decadent dessert, yummy!  Another good low points snack is cut up veggies and hummus.  I prefer artichoke or garlic hummus, YUMMY!  My prefered veggie dipper of choice is cucumber spears.  Carrots are a little to much for me to chew right now.  Oh well!  And one of my absolute fave snacks?  Thinly sliced turkey with some shredded cheese rolled up inside.  This goes great with pickles!


Well, I am off to work in about 30 minutes.

First Post On a New Blog

Hello all!  This is my first post on a newer (and better) blog site.  Same concept as before, but with better formatting, etc.


Okay, I am totally in love with these new Bento lunch boxes!  I'm going to try and order one this week.  They look GREAT for portion control and encouraging to pack lunch more often!  I eat out maybe once a week for lunch, so this will help save me more money and calories, too.  I like the alien space pattern =P


Quick weight loss update: Since March 25th, I am down 69.8lbs!!!!!!  Tomorrow is weigh in at WW, so I'm hoping to be down AT LEAST 70lbs.  FINGERS CROSSED!
